How it feels like to be a superhero. Well I felt like a SUPERWOMAN when i wore this cape i am featuring in my post today.

Capes: the ultimate in warmth and versatility, and a dream if you love layers (who doesn’t, at this time of year?). These cover-ups are ideal replacement for classic coat and jacket. They’re trending big time and there’s a style to suit every need. A cape is a great way to add elegance and stylish retro vibe to your fall wardrobe. Perfect for transition periods (from warm to cool), not that practical (unless you can find a cape with slits for moving your arms), but undeniably a striking outerwear for you who wants to have fun with silhouettes this season!

How to wear it:

  • Avoid the costumey look, instead, go for capes in neutral, basic colors such as black/gray, cream/white and browns for maximized versatility.

  • For a minimal, utility look keep your outfit colors tonal .It also helps downplay the look of the cape.

  • Emphasize the shape of the cape by wearing slim fitted pants. However, if you have an inverted triangle body shape you might want to balance it out with bootcut pants or a pair of boots with stylish details (buckles, lace, etc.)

While capes may be a little impractical during the coldest months, no one can deny the luxurious jet-set vibe they lend to any look.

Depending on the fabric you choose this garment completely works for the co called winters we have here in Mumbai. The reason being that some capes have an arm slit which will give you some breather compared to the jackets. This is my personal view as I feel caught up in a jacket and don't have much scope to flaunt it in my city as the winters are not sooo cold here. So I am happy to flaunt my cape look for the Mumbai winters. I picked this lace cape from an online Chinese site beginning of this year and somehow never wore it. So when I had to do a new post on my blog and was thinking of some interesting outfit to write about I thought of putting on this super hero looking trend. The best part of this cape is the fabric being lace it gives you a very feminine look. Unlike other bulky capes made of woollens this lacy cape looks graceful. I have teamed this up with my faux leather and swede pants from H&M. To add a little pattern to this outfit I carried an animal print bag and shoes to complete the look. Animal prints are bold and timeless and I am a big fan of this print. Adding a touch of this spotted go-to is always cool.

Capes are donned by super-heroes to save the world. So give your outfit a touch of magic, and you’re sure to fly!

Hope you liked my super cool fall look !!!
