Heading to the beach this summer? It’s not a flock of seagulls you need to watch out for – it’s a flamboyance of flamingos.
The distinctive pink birds have been the hottest fashion motif for quite some time now. These feathery friends have made their way onto everything from tops , dresses , tshirts , bags , shoes , hats , accessories, mobile phone covers, home decor to pool floaters to every thing you can name it. I am a big fan of these pretty pink birds. I feel this tropical, friendly bird bring an element of fun and cheerfulness and leaves a charm of its sweet pink color.
Thanks to American fashion designer Marc Jacobs, who put flamingos all over the Spring 2015 collection that included a black satin embroidered flamingo bomber jacket. Other labels, such as Bottega Veneta and Gucci, followed suit, and then Prada unveiled a flamingo-themed fragrance in 2015. I guess since then there has been no stoping for this pink bird. Flamingos have soared from the catwalks of Milan to the wardrobes and walls of urban hipsters to the aisles of Nordstrom, IKEA, Crate & Barrel, Target and Britain’s John Lewis department stores. Flamingos now adorn everything from $1,495 Givenchy dresses to $40 shower curtains.
So as we can see this long-legged pink bird has taken flight as a cult favorite, popping up on just about everything . The resulting clothing and accessories are fun, completely adorable, and perfect for the warm-weather months ahead.
So when i saw this Summer Cape with flamingo print by Astitva India i was surprised by their ethnic rendition of this beautiful bird. We all have seen flamingo prints all over. But whats unique is to have them on such ethnic and indian styles.I styled this beautiful indigo blue cape with my distressed blue jeans from Zara. This cape is so versatile you can style this in various ways i.e over a dress , or over shorts or as a beach cover up over your bikini. This can be your go to summer wear.
The red beaded tribal neckpiece seen here is also by Astitva. This has to be one hell of a statement piece. It just adds that EXTRA glamour to you entire outfit. I love this beautiful vintage kantha embroidery gypsy bag with coins detailing again by Astitva. Dont forget to notice the unique shape, they call it Sadhu Jhola. This has to be the most innovative Jhola bag i have ever seen .
I hope you all like this look.
