CELEBRATING LOVE

We think of Valentine’s Day as a day for couples; however, it’s also a day to celebrate the many loves and friendships in our lives. From the love we feel for family and friends to our deep appreciation for those who make our lives a little easier, Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to say “thank you.”

On February 14th, people in Finland celebrate Ystavanpaiva, which is translated as Friend's Day. In Mexico, it is called the Dia del amor y la amistad, the day of love and friendship. Admittedly, the day has been over-commercialized in the US but it still remains a fitting day to express love and appreciation, in whatever way you choose, to the important people in our lives.....which, of course, includes our friends, parents and siblings.

While we celebrate Valentine's Day appreciating those we love, we also should take time for ourselves and appreciate where we are in life. Make each day a day to remember not to regret. Celebrate your own special qualities and the fact that you are a unique individual.

Honestly this is not my subject and people who know me would agree to this. Being mushy , romantic and emotional is jus not me and I am really hopeless when it comes to matters of heart. I have my own way of dealing and expressing love which is definitely not like the Valentine kind of love we see around. But this is the month of love and I had to write about this on my blog - so i guess i tried atleast to give you guys some gyan about this V-day.

I am gonna talk about one of my favourite clothing brand GOLMAAL located at Lokahndwala - Andheri (West). I have been wearing their clothes since over 8 years now. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary and am really happy to be associated with this brand since soo long.Thier international styling with a hint of Indianess makes them unique from any brand i have known . So when i had to choose an outfit to feature for the V-day blog i went to their store to look at their Valentine's Day collection.

And these are two outfits i really liked. The first outfit was this Deep Red "PLUM" dress with the rose print which i think is a perfect outfit for a quite dinner with your loved one. I loved the vintage frock kind of look of the dress which also made me feel very girly and feminine. The best part of GOLMAAL is they cater to all body sizes and make sizes upto size 44 so you girls must visit this store. Also i was very happy to fit into their size 40 verses size 44....yeah i dropped two sizes thanks to my yoga workout. I accessorised this dress with this LOVE chain....which is by the way my own creation. I have designed this limited edition collection of neckpieces for the V-day and retailing here at GOLMAAL stores...you guys should grab it before they go out of stock. Also the store has the whole V-Day look and feel with these beautifully painted glass window display - you are surely gonna feel the love here at the store.

The second outfit is this Fuschia Pink "Adele" tunic. This outfit i feel works for both day and night look. The colour is so fresh and vibrant like a blush on. I styled it with black leggings and accesorised with another piece of HEART necklace again from my collection.

So even if you don’t have a special valentine this year, looking beyond the romantic you will find there are lots of other ways to share the spirit of Valentine’s Day.
