Hello people !!! So we are already half way through this year 2016...cant believe it...i know we say this every year though when you realise that half the year is already over. I feel the second half of the year is always the fun part.Usually all the festivals in India start from August onwards, with all the festivals coming up back to back there is no breathing space till you finish the New Years Eve.I LOVE this time of the year !!!

So what are your associations when you think of Festivals of India??

There are many right ...like sweets, lights, colours, good food, rituals, new clothes, family get togethers, decorations etc. For me one of the strong associations is the Marigold flower. This flower is a common factor across all the festivals in India...isn't it?

As we are all aware Marigold has forever been associated with auspicious occasions and is considered ideal for the purpose of larger than life celebrations. These flowers which come in two colours yellow and orange hold a very strong significance since the ancient mythological times. This flower has been renowned to be considered as the favourite bloom of the gods. Many auspicious occasions are incomplete without the use of these flowers. Marigold flower has a very important and prominent place on any occasion of celebration, either it's the welcome of some important person, the marriage ceremony, a festival celebration , a pooja of a diety or any function. Marigold being elegantly, prominently colorful, it's presence makes an occasion not only beautiful, but vibrant and energetic too. I use it most of the time to decorate my house during festivals ...i just love the positive energy this flower spreads around. And most importantly, it's availability is in abundance, it's grown and found in India almost in every state, every place. The orange marigolds are mainly associated with fire and life. Hence many wedding decorations are engulfed with the use of these flowers. They have the unique ability to celebrate life and happiness by their presence.

While i was racking my brains to do an interesting outfit post on the upcoming festive season ...i came across this outfit which i am featuring today at my favourite store GOLMAAL. I saw the colours on this long Kurti and the first thing which came to my mind was the MARIGOLD flower. And i was like wow what better way to start this post on the upcoming festive season ...take inspiration from this beautiful flower and do an outfit post which depicts its colours. I loved this blend of two strong and vibrant colours orange and yellow which has been used to create this outfit. This Kurti might look very simple when one sees on the rack but once you try it on you will realise this is such a comfy and fuss free outfit to wear for any occasion. Usually we always look for some jazz like embroidery or some kind of ethnic trimmings on an ethnic outfit.....at-least i do.....but this Kurti even though its simple the colours itself bring out the festive feel . Also it depends on how one styles it. So for this blog post i teamed up this beautiful Kurti with my old pair of Denim Pallazos from Global Desi. I wanted to create a Fusion look hence i used a Pallazo...but one can also style this Kurti with a chudidar or leggings or jeans...whatever suits your mood or occasion. You can also throw a duppatta around to dress it up .I accessorised this outfit with my own creation of ethnic choker...yes i have designed this piece!! I will be retailing this collection at Golmaal Stores, Lokhandwala, Andheri (W), Mumbai.

Do check it out girls if you come to this part of the town!!!

Also GOLMAAL is launching their new Festive Collection this week with some really interesting designs which are sure to turn some heads.

So do get your hands on it soon girls !!!
