Glam up your basics

Hi Loveliies . Todays blog post is about a look which I have created featuring a white crop top and denim as i am participating in the #UpgradeYourBasics contest on Instagram for the Fashion Bloggers conducted by Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2016( Aug 24th - Aug 28 2016).The task is to upgrade the basics i.e a white crop top and blue denims .So the theme "Upgrade Your Basics" totally goes with my style sense cause there is nothing called "Dressing Basics" in my life (haha).To be honest I feel buying a basic piece of T-shirt/Top is a waste of money and time 😝 😂 so I land up hoarding only going out clothes. Ideally for a best closet mix one must have some basics in their wardrobe as it helps to mix match and one can always glam it up and glam it down depends on the occasion and mood. But in my case you will never catch me in a basic piece of clothing. Most of the time I feel I am slightly over dressed for any occasion ....but hey that's me that's how I love to dress ....OTT 😊

Anyways coming back to this contest ... I thankfully had a white basic crop top and these denims are the only decent pair I have as I am not so much of a denim person . But these are my fav pair of denims and these are like 6 years old . I don't know some how I have survived in them irrespective of the size variations I have been through in these 6 years ...from size 12 to size 16 n now back to 14. Love the fit of these denims though. Also now the MID RISE denims are very in this season, so i folded them from below to give a MID RISE length look. For this theme since i was supposed to glam it up.... i decided to add a dash of RED and GOLD...what better way to upgrade this basic white top and denim. I styled it with my Peach Gold jacket from VERO MODA and accessorised with RED shoes and neckpiece. As you can see these RED stilettos from FOREVER 21 are pretty much adding a glam quotient to this entire look. I also used this RED choker from own collection of ethnic chokers which i have designed recently. And not to miss my RED glitter shimmery Michael Kors Clutch to complete the entire look. I feel this look now is great for a glam evening . So yehh i went all out RED to add some OOMPH to these basics. Hope you guys liked this look and hope the Lakme Fashion Week jury likes it most importantly. The winner gets to be become an "Official Blogger" at Lakme Fashion Week. Fingers crossed for this one.
