Hello people !!! Hows the Holiday Season going for you? I cant believe it that we are already in the end of the year. But don't we say this every year...haha. I love this time of the year. The slight chill in the air ,christmas time and a season to party , makes it the most exciting month of the year. I am sure all of you have a busy power packed December with all the party planning in store.

In this blog post i am showcasing two outfits. They both have plaid patterns. Plaid as you guys must be knowing is a very popular winter trend. Its the case every year. All designers and fashion weeks showcase some plaid inspired outfits for every Fall/ Autumn collection. Let me throw some light on the term PLAID. According to Wikipedia, a plaid pattern is used as a synonym for tartan; which is a pattern consisting of criss-crossed horizontal and vertical bands in multiple colours.

Originally, Plaid is the name of the material which is used for making kilts. Plaid is the American and Canadian name for the Scottish tartan patterns . In the US, plaid usually refers to the material - plaid and tartan are interchangeable terms there. But in some places the word ‘plaid’ still refers to the pattern which indicates a range of fabric designs and visually related non fabric designs in cross striping. Got It !!! Thats my little gyan on plaid.

These two outfits i am showcasing today are from Zara. The first one is a grey Glen Plaid shift dress. Glen Plaid pattern is where two dark and two light stripes alternate with four dark and four light stripes which creates a crossing pattern of irregular checks. I love the bell sleeves style on this dress.

The second red outfit is in the popular Tartan Plaid print. I love this baby doll style of this outfit. Also both these outfits are the type to fit any body type. I styled both these outfits with boots as its the time to sport those boots which keep lying in your wardrobe the entire year.
