Hi all. How are you all doing ?. So what are your plans for the Festival Of Colors Holi ? I am not a big fan of this festival but still to keep up the spirit and not be a spoilt sport i do participate in the celebrations. I love the concept of colors though and as long as its not harmful i don't mind it now. More so ,over the years most of us have consciously started using organic colors, which is good. If you are planning to play Holi , do encourage your friends and kids or who so ever to only use organic colours and ofcourse to be safe.
Since we are talking about Colors here, let me put some more emphasis on the concept of COLORSs. Colors play a very important role in our lives, whether we realize it or not. They have the ability to affect our emotions and moods in a way that few other things can. Color is a very powerful tool for communicating and can be used to indicate an action, affect the mood and cause reactions in peoples mind. Some colors can actually raise your blood pressure, increase metabolism and have even been known to cause eyestrain, if you look at them long enough.
In this blog post i am going to talk about my current obsession with the colour ULTRAVIOLET. You guys must be aware that this colour is the Pantone Color of the Year 2018. This colour has always been one of my favourites and therefore my obsession when it got declared as the colour of the year 2018.
So what does this mean - Pantone Color of the year ?
Each day, over 10 million designers and manufacturers work with Pantone to select, communicate, and approve color in design. The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.” – says Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute. As individuals around the world become more fascinated with color and realize its ability to convey deep messages and meanings, designers and brands should feel empowered to use color to inspire and influence. The Color of the Year is one moment in time that provides strategic direction for the world of trend and design, reflecting the Pantone Color Institute’s year-round work doing the same for designers and brands. The Pantone Color Institute is a consulting service within Pantone that forecasts global color trends and advises companies on color in brand identity and product development, for the application and integration of color as a strategic asset
A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.
ULTRA VIOLET IN FASHION
On the runway or the streets, Ultra Violet is an enchanting purple that provides a theatrical linkage for both men’s and women’s styles. True to the coupled nature of Ultra Violet, created by combining red and blue, Ultra Violet lends itself to unique color combinations in fashion and is easier to pair with all colors on the spectrum than one might think. With golds or other metallics, Ultra Violet becomes luxurious and dazzling; with greens or greys it evokes natural elegance. Similarly, Ultra Violet takes on distinct appearances with different materials. Lush velvets in the color suggest intrigue for evening, but are also unexpectedly modern in athleisure or sneakers. In accessories, jewelry, and eyewear, Ultra Violet suggests the complexities of natural gems, textures, and florals.
ULTRA VIOLET IN BEAUTY
Ultra Violet becomes spell-binding and steeped in spirituality in beauty to create expressive looks for all. The complex and deep nature of the color is well-suited for beauty looks created by combinations, blends, and ombres. A singular matte purple on the lips or nails makes a bold statement of non-conformity, while softly blended metallics and shimmers in Ultra Violet transform the eyes into windows to the cosmos. Purple shades in hair continue to elevate street styles as a symbol of creative expression. On the palette for every beauty medium, Ultra Violet complements and emboldens every other color, adding complexity and mystery.
Let me share with you pictures of my obsession with this color. This look is created by using the strong ULTRAVIOLET shade of lipstick called "FREEDOM" by the latest collection of collaboration between L'Oréal Paris and Balmain.
L'Oréal Paris X Balmain Color Riche recently lunched their first limited-edition collection of 12 tailor-made designer lipsticks. Uncover edgy, matte shades encased within an exclusive pack, designed by Olivier Rousteing. 12 lip stunning colours designed to embody three femininities: Safari, Rock & Couture. Lipstick shades for every woman – no matter her origin, no matter her tribe.
I identified my self with the Rock Tribe and chose this colour FREEDOM. Also the name of this shade was so me..i could identify with this. Freedom for me is soo important in all aspects of my life. Be it what i talk , what i do, what i wear and what i eat and how i live my life. So by wearing this bold ULTRAVIOLET colour is in a way expressing my FREEDOM. Its my freedom to express my confidence and my attitude. I soo love this colour as it perfectly matches my personality.
